It will be, if anything, almost record warm over the next 3-5 days. But like everything, it does not last forever. A developing storm will bring showers and thunderstorms in the middle of next week. That is great news for those suffering from the drought, although the rain amounts from that system will not be anywhere near enough to “bust” the drought. Then it turns cooler at the end of next week.
So that’s basically how the weather is looking over the next week. Sunny with near record highs through this weekend and into Monday. Tuesday and especially Wednesday, that’s when the cold front and rain and thunderstorms come crashing on through. Behind that cold front it actually returns to near normal for Columbus Day Weekend, which should mean peak fall foliage viewing in most areas of the state outside of the Adirondacks and Catskills. Which are at peak right now.
It should warm back up around and especially after Columbus Day. Again. At least that is the way the trends are carrying the weather for now.
If there was any mention of snow, I would put it up. But since I don’t this is the best I could come up with:
