The Catchup Blog 10.14.25

WE ARE SORRY. VERY SORRY. WE WERE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE A LAPTOP IN FLORIDA OVER THE LAST 10 DAYS. IN ADDITION, AT & T DECIDED TO HAVE A MAJOR OUTAGE THAT STARTED LAST NIGHT THEN RAN INTO THIS AFTERNOON, WELL OVER 16 HOURS. WE JUST GOT INTERNET BACK A SHORT TIME AGO. SO YOU ADD ALL OF THAT UP: THAT IS WHERE WE HAVE BEEN.

If we had known about this in advance we would have purchased a cheap laptop, rather than chance the huge expensive laptop that I have for Upstate Snow and the business. Seriously. And with other suggestions like this for traveling, and missing you guys so much here on Upstate Snow, we have some things to tell you. Major things to tell you.

Null

PEAK FOLIAGE
The peak is already long gone in the Adirondacks and the Catskills. We are at peal or near peak over the rest of Northern NY. South of the Thruway, peak is here, or will be in the next 3-7 days. Several more frosty and freeze mornings should make sure of that. High pressure moving south and east out of Canada and into the Great Lakes should make sure of it. That’s the weather for the end of this week.

THIS WEEKEND
A good size storm will develop in the Central US starting Saturday, then track here into the western Carolinas all the way up into Upstate NY on Sunday with heavy rains and thunderstorms possible. There are growing indications this storm may last until

EARLY NEXT WEEK
The storm stalls for a time over the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. While the Southeast and Ohio Valley go out into cooler and drier weather, wet conditions will continue across Upstate NY into Monday. While that storm exits by Monday night and going into Tuesday morning, yet another cool storm looks to pour on into Upstate NY Tuesday Night and into Wednesday next week.

BEYOND MID NEXT WEEK
The one big thing is the -NAO, GREENLAND BLOCK, that appears to be BACK. It’s never too early for this, but it is definitely earlier this year than most others. This will provide more stormy periods with more rain showers than usual. For an area hit hard by drought from July through September, October and beyond are looking better. It took time to get into this. You see how dry it is out there now. Give it time. Oh, and by the way. Above Normal on the temperatures. Sorry.

THIS IS MY WELCOME BACK!
Thank you for your support! We expect to write more in the coming days. TRUST US: We are not going another 11 days again. We are sorry that it ever came to this.
