The Evening Blog 11.03.25

This is a rare evening post. But I am doing it for a couple of reasons:
1) The weather is definitely acting “November like” out there. Not all the time but some of the time. And when it does, it’s best if you pay attention. There have been big storms in November that have caught good people off guard. Even in early November. Not every year. But some years. This could be one!
2) We are definitely seeing increased chances of snow events in the next 5-10 days with the jet stream being pushed to our south, and at or below normal temperatures being almost guaranteed.
3) THERE IS REASON TO CARRY AN ACCUMULATION MAP FOR WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND FOR THURSDAY MORNING. AND INDEED THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE:

We will get to the snowfall map for Wednesday Night and Thursday Morning in a moment. First we will deal with the here and now outside which will be tapering off tonight and tomorrow morning. With winds being up and temperatures borderline, any snowfall will be in the Tug Hill or especially the Adirondacks. Basically no snowfall accumulation there.  Then Tuesday into early Wednesday is OK. Now to Wednesday PM:

Null

Fast arcing in storm system, this one with greater intensity than the last storm, that will make its way through Wednesday Night with a BURST OF SNOW across everywhere north of the Thruway, especially above 1000 feet. Based off of how strong it is and what all the models are measuring on this, our confidence in the snowfall forecast is good at this time. If there are changes, we think Wednesday morning about 12-18 hours ahead of the storm should suffice.

After a brief dry spell for most of Thursday with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the 40s during the day, Friday starts out like Wednesday ended. Snow in the higher elevations. But not for long. We are probably NOT going to put an accumulation map on here because any snow changes to rain as temperatures race for the 40s, if not the 50s in the lower elevations. Talk about GAME OVER! But again, NOT FOR LONG…

Late Sunday a major cold front goes through. This will usher in definite below normal temperatures for a good part of next week, especially from Veterans Day and beyond! Deep and cold Northwest flow along with not one but multiple chances not just for snow at the higher elevations, but chances for the first inch of snow for places like Massena, Watertown, Plattsburgh, Utica/Rome, Syracuse, and possibly even Rochester, Buffalo and/or Albany! This is definitely on the radar, and please note we are not 200+ hours away here. The time is still a lot but it is definitely getting closer and the trends are our friends! Please be sure to stay with me in the coming days and next week plus! It’s going to be interesting!
