If you are in the Utica/Rome area, particularly just south and west of there, CONGRATULATIONS! AND WELCOME TO SHOVELING SATURDAY! Or snow blowing Saturday? Or just gimme whatever I can to clean this stuff up on Saturday! For most of you that woke up to the BOOM heard on Black Friday, take your time today. Seriously! Here are all the numbers that have been reported to the National Weather Service and to Facebook Meteorologists. Like me! These numbers are from all across Upstate NY:

*(A POSSIBLE NOVEMBER 1 DAY RECORD)
I am not sure about other places, however, I am positive on the one day record reading in Utica. The previous record was 11.8″ set on November 14, 1997 in a lower end storm coming up the coast that went coastal and GANGBUSTERS. That was a 1001 low. This was nothing shown to this extent. But the record is what it was. This time, we may have it beat again.
LOOKING AHEAD
We have SEVERAL storm systems we are watching. The timing of these may change a little bit daily, but I will do my best to keep this wagon train lined on up! The reason why? SNOWMOBILE SEASON BEGINS IN PARTS OF THE TUG HILL, ADIRONDACKS AND NORTH COUNTRY ON DECEMBER 8TH AT SUNDOWN! With the forecast we have in front of you, short range, medium range, and the long range, GET READY TO RIDE! We will actually be riding in DAYS!!!
SUNDAY
This system coming roaring on in tonight and especially tomorrow morning. It starts as all snow everywhere. In the lower elevations, especially along the Thruway and points south a change to rain is expected. Or at least was. The same weather models that had highs pushing 40 every run, still are. What about with 1 to 2 feet of snow not on the ground across a good part of Upstate NY? Yep! I would think at least 5 degrees colder. AT LEAST! The models have not caught on to this big change yet. We will see what they do at the last minute.
MONDAY
Partly sunny day. But it will be a chilly day with a NW flow behind this storm system. Highs will barely hit freezing. There will most certainly be a little bit of lake effect, even if only very localized.
TUESDAY
This is the day to watch. I have been saying this over the past several days. Tuesday, especially the afternoon and into Tuesday Night and early Wednesday Morning are a troubled time here. The low is CLEARLY heading to our south and east. Someone in the Mid Atlantic and/or the Northeast will definitely get several inches of snow. At least. The only question is how exactly this develops, how close it gets to us. And how much do we get.
WEDNESDAY
This turns out more to be a clouds giving way to sunshine type of day. It will continue to be cold with at or below freezing temperatures pretty much everywhere. Nothing we can do there.
THURSDAY
Another disturbance comes on down through this time with snow showers and a better chance for lake effect squalls. This is what the models have shown at 5 days out. We will continue to monitor this progress as these systems move through.
