The Morning Blog is brought to you by the Ful-Mont Snow Travelers of Gloversville, NY, covering Fulton and Montgomery Counties along and north of the Mohawk Valley between Utica and Albany. With dozens of miles of trails connecting areas to the south of the Mohawk Valley and the Adirondacks to the north, we appreciate your membership so much! For more information PLEASE CLICK HERE.
The next week is definitely the time to get out and enjoy the snow. Any way you can. Take a sick day. Call in dead! 🙂 Whatever you have to do to say THIS IS NOT GOING TO STOP ME NOW!

For the next three days, expect high temperatures to be in the 20s with low temperatures to be in the single digits. In the Tug Hill, Adirondacks, and North Country, some locations will get below zero for a brief time. Otherwise expect near perfect snowmobiling conditions through Thursday!

FRIDAY NIGHT/SATURDAY MORNING
This is the transition day as a strong arctic cold cold comes racing through Upstate NY and the Northeast. It will have with it snow showers as well as some lake effect squalls. Also it will have with it a massive shot of arctic air, some of the coldest air of this season. Seeing as how we have already seen a lot of it, that is saying something!

THE WEEKEND
BRUTALLY COLD! Barely getting above zero during the day. WELL BELOW ZERO AT NIGHT with morning lows from -10 to -25 most everywhere around the state. It will be this way for Saturday, Sunday and into Monday too, but mainly Monday Morning.

6-10 DAY
Here you are seeing signs of this deep freeze pulling out! We start Monday BELOW ZERO. We finish the week AT NORMAL or just slightly below. Wait, how do we do that? Especially STARTING out Monday Morning at 19 BELOW ZERO IN UTICA?! Well basically there is only one way to do this:

8-14 DAY
This is particularly where I need your attention please. Seriously. This is the first time since early January, in about a month, you all have had to see this. Above normal temperatures are FULLY BACK in the Northeast for the first time in a long time! If you look back over the long term records, it’s the longest time since the brutally long cold snap of 2015 that we have seen this. So basically, this has been a once in a decade response.

We will evaluate the potential riding weather for President’s Week and beyond in a little more detail starting this weekend. Basically if you are in an area of the state that has some snow but will be in big trouble of done with just a few days of warmth, consider options. In the meantime, get up here! Get your rides in! Get your memories in while you can!
