BRUTALLY COLD. PERIOD. THERE IS NO WAY AROUND THIS.
This weekend could very well be one of the coldest weekends since the Valentine’s BURR of 2016. February 2015. January 2004. Or even January 1994 or February 1979. This stretch of weather over the next 48 to 60 hours could put it in this range. I don’t honestly think the actual air temperatures, even with the direct shot at us with no Great Lakes warming, will go for us this time. It is still more than cold enough, and especially windy enough, that if you have ANYTHING HAPPEN ON THE TRAILS, TO WHERE YOU GET BROKEN DOWN FOR MORE THAN A FEW MINUTES, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE IN REMOTE AREAS, YOU WILL HAVE HYPOTHERMIA. PERIOD. AT THE LEAST. If anything, depending on where anything were to happen it could be much worse. Whatever you use for your sleds, make sure everything is double and triple backed up! Don’t leave anyone behind.

NEXT WEEK

It does get warmer starting Monday as temperatures race quickly above zero into the teens above zero. On Tuesday it gets into the 20s. It may actually approach freezing by the end of next week depending on which model run you are taking in.

THE ANNOUNCEMENT
Ladies and Gentlemen, I had held this announcement back for so long. I have known about this announcement for weeks now. While I will not be able to be with you, my son Zachary, 22, will be riding up with his friend Bo to Upstate NY! Upstate NY will get the love and attention it deserves by someone who has been leading the Upstate Snow team in his second year this year! Starting tomorrow and through Valentine’s Day, expect a lot more stuff from us than usual! My friends just north of Utica have been helping out. This weekend Arctic blast will help us out as it will center everyone on getting out on Monday rather than Saturday or Sunday. At least that is how we are seeing things.
