Even though there will be warm spells and even spells with tropical rainfall and thunderstorms from the leftovers of Isaias Sunday and Columbus Day, most of the week afterwards is looking chilly! With average highs getting into the 50’s this time of year now, this means when you see below normal, 40’s are a lot more likely with many well below freezing nights. And that is looking not definite, but more and more likely for mid-October and beyond.
That is really it for the weather. It is looking very challenging for the next 5 days with this tropical moisture settling in over much of the eastern US. Isaias will be “leftovers” and won’t have anything with it but some breezes by the time it reaches us in the Northeast. But the inch plus worth of rainfall cannot be stopped. After that is when the polar cold front moves on through, and that should send the rest of Upstate NY to PEAK FOLIAGE, if it is not already by then.
I still have no idea on the first snowflakes, although I did say, there were some in the higher elevations of the Adirondacks. Not quite to the town level. Yet. As the month goes on and below normal temperatures continue to show up on the maps, we will build excitement.
Another way we wish to create excitement: WELCOME BACK DARRIN HARR FROM ILSNOW.COM! He is back on for another year with us as a major sponsor! Please like and follow him all season for the best in snowmobiling from the Adirondacks and beyond! He has been a great friend for almost 15 years.
