Good Morning! This is how it looks when most of Upstate NY, almost all of it actually, gets hit with a foot or more from a widespread Nor’easter which came tearing on through Sunday and into Sunday Night. While most of the snow has fallen for that event, an additional few inches are still to come and that will happen over the next few days. The one thing this will do: Get the RIDE map across most of Upstate NY to TURN GREEN! THAT WOULD BE SWEET!!!

Now looking ahead, it looks a lot like this each day during the week. Mostly cloudy to a mix of clouds and sun each day. Scattered snow showers. Localized areas will pick up a dusting to an inch a day. Maybe two if they are lucky.

Another big blast of super cold air come in this weekend. Temperatures go double digits below zero. Record territory? Not quite but it will be close. We are in the time of year when we we have some -25 to -33 in the records, so a -15 is not as bad.

The 6-10 day and the 8-14 day show continued below normal temperatures and drier than normal conditions for Upstate NY and the Northeast. Even the 3-4 week continues to run below normal. So if you expect melting and/or warming between now and President’s Day, you will be likely disappointed. This time.

If you have ANY ability to go and schedule time for riding, ANYTIME between now and President’s Day Weekend, especially over the next 14 days, DO IT. TAKE A DAY OFF. OR A FEW IF YOU CAN. This is simply THE BEST riding conditions since 2022 statewide. Before that we go back to 2015. About every 4-7 years we get a good year like this with several great weeks of riding everywhere. More than just last year’s lake effect. This year, it’s EVERYWHERE NOW!!!
