Welcome back HOME to the 2026-27 Snowmobile Season here at Upstate Snow! It has seemed like forever since we last spoke to you. Because, it WAS! It was Mid-March, almost 6 months ago. Unfortunately these earlier ends to winter have been much more frequent in the last 15 years along with later starts after the holidays most years. It’s not fun. And with a SUPER EL NINO, potentially one of the if not the worst one in HISTORY, who knows what could happen?
We could end up like 2015-16 and get next to nothing. Or we could end up like 1997-98 with a significant winter with the worst ice storm in HISTORY for Northern NY, Southern Ontario and Quebec. Whatever we do end up getting, fasten your seat belts! This winter will be a bumpy ride unlike any we have seen, at least in our nearly decade and a half here.
So what do we talk about now? How about sponsorships! Yes we know it is September. But SNOW BASH is 2 1/2 weeks away. Salisbury is 3 1/2 weeks away. Big East is 4 1/2 weeks away. Three straight huge weekends this fall, before a busy October and November cleanup and sign up season, before December comes and the snow is flying around like crazy! Let’s just hope on that. For now.

Don’t even bother to look. September has turned more and more into a “late summer” month. It’s looking like the weather patterns for this September means there will be no exception, at least in the Northeast. And especially in the Southeast!
It’s at or above normal pretty much all month! Not saying it won’t get chilly for a few days. But it won’t last long if it happens. It will warm right back up. Just remember: It will stay warm into October. That’s my call.
